DTO TRAINING
Pilotų Mokykla, in addition to its approved ATO (Approved Training Organisation), also operates as a DTO (Declared Training Organisation), enabling a more flexible and efficient organisation of general aviation training.
DTO is a simplified training organisation system established by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), intended for non-commercial pilot training such as PPL and additional ratings. Unlike an ATO, a DTO operates on a declaration basis – the organisation itself declares compliance with the requirements and may conduct training without a complex certification process.
Within the DTO structure of Pilotų Mokykla, the following training courses are conducted:
- PPL(A) – Private Pilot Licence (aeroplanes)
- VFRN (Night Rating) – Visual Flight Rules Night qualification
It is important to emphasise that:
- the quality of training, instructors, aircraft, and infrastructure remain the same as in ATO operations;
- all training is conducted in accordance with applicable EASA requirements;
- DTO provides greater flexibility in organising training and reduces administrative burden while maintaining a high level of safety.
The activities of Pilotų Mokykla LT.DTO.019 are officially declared and published on the website of the Transport Competence Agency (TKA).
In this way, Pilotų Mokykla can offer both professional pilot training through its ATO and efficient, accessible general aviation training through its DTO.
